The apprenticeship

What is the Safeguarding Support Officer Apprenticeship?

Safeguarding concerns don't wait for a convenient moment, and how quickly and confidently someone responds can make all the difference. The Level 3 Safeguarding Support apprenticeship is built for exactly that first response.

It's the recognised professional route into safeguarding operations, developing staff who can identify, record, triage and refer concerns in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, Working Together to Safeguard Children and PREVENT. Learners build the procedural discipline behind good safeguarding practice, thresholds, recording, information sharing, chronologies, alongside the interpersonal skill to handle difficult conversations and work sensitively with families.

Delivered through online modules, workshops with sector-experienced safeguarding leads and reflective workplace practice, it gives your setting a genuinely capable first point of contact, backed by a portfolio built from real casework.
